Six online copywriting tips that you must know
Your copy must be in a conversational style,be believable and be very inviting.Here are six ways to make that a reality: 1.Inject emotion into your words,because people buy on emotion then justify on logic Use words like tough, rather than difficult,sick instead of ill,danger instead of peril,lucky instead of fortunate. 2.Use bullet points or numberings just as I am doing now. 3.Add a free bonus if they buy your product,this always boosts conversions. 4.Add a money back guarantee,the longer the better. 5.Have a big fat order button at various points on the page but never at the beginning. 6.Include testimonials or social proof.People take comfort from that fact they are buying something that many others already have.Robert Cialdini called this social proof in his excellent book Influence:Science and Practice a copy of which you can grab below: Your copy must capture the audiences attention,generate interest,build desire and then induce action.The time it takes for people to make a buying decision varies from one to the other.Some will buy on impulse some take much longer. So you might need several copy pages to convince the more skeptical person. You must have a strong unique selling proposition or USP if you are going to generate interest.You can start a sentence like this ..."unlike most of our competition..." then state how your product is different.Remember to focus on the benefits of the product not it's features. Don't tell us what it can do,say how the customers life will be easier by using the product. Include the words YOU or YOUR as much as you can in the copy so the customer has a sense of ownership eg "you will find your life so much easier when you start using this great xyz product..." When it comes to the pricing a good technique is to break the cost down to a daily rate and compare it to something people might buy every day and not even think about it.For example "... for less than the cost of a daily cup of coffee you can get your hands on this fantastic xyz product"

Here's more online copy writing tips for that all important order pageOnce the customer makes the decision to buy and clicks through to the order page,that order page must have this: 1.A check box that says yes they want to buy. 2.A summary of the offer. 3.The price and an alternative paying structure eg pay over three months. 4.Assure the customer that ordering is secure and their credit card details are safe. 5.How long delivery will take and the cost. 6.The guarantee again and testimonials. 7.Induce a sense of urgency,ie the price will go up if they don't buy by midnight Thursday. Include these elements in a sales page and you will get high conversions.
