The sign up process is quite simple,and it allows space for you to have one link to another website, so choose wisely.There is a also an"about me "box where you can fill in a short bio of yourself. The important thing to with Twitter is to firstly start following people and then giving value.It might be link to a blog post you found useful.You can link to your own site but again avoid the sales pitch. These sites are about building relationships and pitching right from day one will win you few friends. Once you have created your profile I would recommend you download the Tweetdeck software which is free ,and do your posts from it's dasboard.It has alot more features that the Twitter front page: you can form groups,link to your Facebook account and follow topics that you have an interest in. I also recommend you use Tweetlater.com which allows you to automatically follow anyone who follows you and send a pre-loaded message to them.In it you can say hello and add a link to say your blog,remember no pitching!Click on the image below so you can sign up.it's free.
This great tool also allows you to track keywords that are of interest to you.So let's say network marketing is of interest to you.Tweetdeck will alert you if there is a post about that subject,so you can keep up to date with the issues that affect your niche. The Twitter Yellow PagesHere is another great resource,it's like the yellow pages for Twitter and it's called Twellow.You can find it here. You can do a search not only by a person's name but by the niche they work in.The idea is you follow the link to their Twitter home page then start following the people who are following that person.They are more than likely to be in the same niche as your so will be useful to get to know,and will start following you.Then, the number of people who follow you will grow,and your profile will also be raised. There is also a site called Twollow.com which will find for you people you share your chosen interest.I made a video about it here. So get twittering now,start following and start posting.
